Current FCDO travel advice
The FCDO’s current position for these destinations is:
- United Arab Emirates (including Dubai): The FCDO no longer advises against all but essential travel.
- Qatar: The FCDO no longer advises against all but essential travel.
- Jordan: Travel is permitted throughout the country, except within 3km of the Syrian border, where the FCDO continues to advise against all travel.
As official travel advice can be updated without much notice, we recommend checking the latest FCDO guidance both before booking your trip and again before you depart.
Before you travel
To help ensure your trip goes as smoothly as possible:
- Review the latest FCDO advice for every destination included in your itinerary.
- Let us know if you have changed your destination, travel dates or itinerary so we can confirm your policy details remain accurate.
- Check that your passport will be valid for at least six months from the date you arrive, as this is a common entry requirement in many Middle Eastern countries.
Travel insurance considerations
When arranging your travel insurance, please remember:
- Policies generally exclude claims arising from war or military conflict, regardless of whether the conflict has been formally declared.
- Insurance does not provide cover for events that were already public knowledge when you purchased your policy or booked your trip.
- If you have a pre-existing medical condition, ensure it has been declared and that your policy reflects both your medical history and your travel plans, particularly if you’re travelling long haul or to destinations with higher temperatures.
