If you forgot to purchase cover before leaving the UK, or if your existing policy has lapsed and left you uninsured, don’t panic, you can still get back on track with reliable travel insurance when already abroad.
This type of already travelling travel insurance allows you to arrange cover while overseas, helping protect you against unexpected situations during the rest of your trip.
Cover is available for up to 365 days if you are under the age of 65, with restrictions applying for travellers aged 66 to 79. To be eligible, you must be a UK passport holder, have unrestricted entry to the UK, and be registered with a GP in the United Kingdom.

Their specialist policy is designed for UK residents who need travel insurance whilst already abroad, giving you the option to arrange protection even after your journey has started.
Whether you’ve extended your trip or your original policy has expired, this already travelling travel insurance helps protect you against unexpected costs such as medical emergencies, lost belongings, or trip disruptions, so you don’t feel stuck or unprotected while overseas.
Policies are available for up to 365 days for travellers under 65, with options for those aged 66 to 79 subject to restrictions. You’ll also have access to 24/7 emergency assistance, giving you support whenever you need it.
As with most travel insurance arranged after departure, cover begins after a short waiting period (typically 48 hours) before full protection applies. However, if you need urgent help due to a serious accident, emergency assistance can begin immediately when the incident is verified by an independent third party.
