Trusted travel insurance designed for people living with bowel cancer. Transparent medical cover, fair pricing and support for safe, stress-free travel.
If you’ve been diagnosed with bowel cancer, or are living with the effects of treatment, planning a holiday can feel like a big step. It’s completely understandable to have questions about whether you can travel, and whether you’ll be able to get the right insurance in place. The good news is – travel is still possible, and with the right support, it can be something to look forward to.
At OK To Travel, we understand that bowel cancer affects everyone differently. Some people may be recovering from surgery or treatment, while others may be living with an ongoing diagnosis or managing side effects. Whatever your situation, we take the time to help you find travel insurance that reflects your individual needs, so you can feel more confident about your trip.
Many people are able to travel after bowel cancer treatment or during ongoing management of their condition, but it’s important to consider your personal health before making plans. If you’ve recently had surgery, are undergoing treatment, or are experiencing symptoms, speaking to your GP or consultant before travelling can help you decide whether it’s the right time. When arranging travel insurance, you’ll need to declare your diagnosis and any related conditions or treatments. This may include details about surgery, chemotherapy, radiotherapy, medication, or follow-up care. Providing this information helps insurers understand your circumstances and offer cover that is appropriate for you. Even if your treatment has finished or your condition is stable, it’s still important to declare your full medical history. This ensures your policy is valid and that you’re fully protected if you need support while you’re away.
We know that no two journeys are the same, which is why we don’t take a one-size-fits-all approach. At OK To Travel, you can compare a range of policies from a panel of insurers, giving you access to different levels of cover and allowing you to choose what works best for your situation.
This means you can select a policy based on your personal needs, whether that’s higher medical cover, cancellation protection, or a balance between cover and cost. By comparing options, you can feel reassured that you’re choosing a policy designed around you.
If your bowel cancer and any related conditions have been declared and accepted, your policy can include cover for medical emergencies abroad, including complications linked to your condition. Depending on the level of cover you choose, your policy may also include protection for cancellation, travel disruption, and other important aspects of your trip. All policies arranged through OK To Travel include access to a 24-hour emergency medical assistance service, so if you need help while you’re away, support is always available. This can be especially reassuring when travelling with a medical condition, as you know you won’t be handling things alone.
We understand that having, or having had, bowel cancer can make arranging travel insurance feel more difficult, but it shouldn’t stop you from travelling or finding suitable cover. At OK To Travel, our goal is to make the process as simple and supportive as possible. We offer specialist travel insurance options that are designed to take your condition into account, including any related complications, so you can feel confident that your cover reflects your personal circumstances.
When you request a quote, your premium is based on your current health and medical history. This means whether you are currently receiving treatment, managing your condition, or have been given the all-clear, you can explore options that are tailored to your situation and your travel plans. By completing a confidential medical screening, you’ll be shown policies that consider your condition appropriately. This helps ensure you are covered for unexpected medical treatment abroad, should you need it during your trip.
We know that arranging travel insurance after a cancer diagnosis can feel overwhelming, especially if you’re doing it for the first time. That’s why our team is here to support you every step of the way, whether you choose to get a quote online or speak to someone directly for guidance. Having the right cover in place means you can travel knowing your health has been carefully considered, and that support is there if you need it. If you’d like to learn more about bowel cancer, you can visit Cancer Research UK, which provides helpful and reliable information for patients, families, and carers.
