Specialist travel insurance for breast cancer patients travelling to Europe or worldwide.

breast cancer travel insurance

Travel insurance after breast cancer

More than 55,000 people in the UK are diagnosed with breast cancer every year, making it one of the most common types of cancer. Breast cancer survival rates have doubled in the last 40 years, and despite being one of the most common types of cancer, it is also the most curable. This means that there are more and more people living with a previous breast cancer diagnosis, and we believe that this shouldn’t impact your ability to travel, which is why we work hard to find the best policy for you and your medical needs. Travel insurance after breast cancer should be simple and easy to obtain and that’s where OK To Travel come in.

We understand that breast cancer can affect people in different ways. We endeavour to find suitable cover for your trip, regardless of the type of treatment you required and wherever you are on your journey to recovery. Standard insurers often exclude cover for pre-existing medical conditions, or anything related to them, even if your breast cancer diagnosis was several years ago. Our specialist insurance policy makes sure that you are covered for any complications that may arise due to your ongoing cancer or previous diagnosis.

FAQs

Some of our most frequently asked questions.

  • I have been breast cancer free for more than 5 years. Do I still need to declare my breast cancer?

Our medical declarations do ask about cancer on a lifelong basis, so you would need to declare your breast cancer even if it was a long time ago. However, because of our medically aware team and our expert screening system, we ask all the right questions to reflect your own circumstances, so your policy will take into account how long you have been cancer free.

  • Can I get cover if I'm still having ongoing treatment for breast cancer?

Although we can’t guarantee we can cover every circumstance, we can always consider cover depending on the type of treatment you’re having and where you’re travelling to. We will always endeavour to find the most suitable policy for your individual needs.

  • Can I get annual travel insurance if I have previously had breast cancer?

In some cases yes, you would need to do a medical screening to confirm this. However please be aware that we can be a lot more flexible with our rates if you are looking a single trip quotation as this is then based where you are travelling actually to.
